Larry Dobbs established Larry E. Dobbs, Inc. in 1990 after being employed for seven years (1982 through 1988) with the largest national commercial appraisal firm in Dallas, Texas and among the largest in the Southwest. This firm constantly had a 9-10 month back log of local and national work. The next three years (1988-1991) were spent sub-contracting for two large local and national appraisal firms whereby one firm primarily specialized in appraising properties in Texas and in the States of New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut. During this period, Dobbs appraised extensively in all of the boroughs of New York City and the cities of Philadelphia, Boston and almost every township and city in the States of New York and New Hampshire. A fellow MAI and Dobbs sub-contracted with the other firm that primarily specialized in hotel/motel and golf course developments along with large industrial projects throughout the nation. Since 1990, Larry Dobbs has operated Larry E. Dobbs, Inc. and Dobbs & Associates Bowling Valuations. Dobbs holds the MAI designation, the highest level of certification with the Appraisal Institute. The MAI membership designation is held by appraisers who are experienced in the valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, residential and other types of properties, and who advise clients on real estate investment decisions.
